Exclusive Interview: Doha Falcons' Goalkeeper Amirah Shaheen Opens Up About Career and Lifestyle

Reporter: Thank you for taking the time to sit down with us, Amirah. Let's start with your recent form on the field. You've been exceptional so far this season, with only 5 goals conceded in 2 matches. What do you attribute this success to?

Amirah: Thank you for having me. I think my experience and skill as a goalkeeper have really come into play this season. I've been able to anticipate the opponent's moves and make crucial saves when needed. Plus, my favorite formation and play style align perfectly with my strengths, which has helped me perform at my best.

Reporter: It's been said that you're not the hardest worker when it comes to practice, yet you still manage to perform at a high level during matches. How do you strike a balance between relaxation and preparation?

Amirah: It's true that I like to have fun and enjoy myself off the field, but when it comes to game time, I always make sure to focus and give my all. I may not be the hardest worker in training, but I never slack off when it comes to performing for my team. I know how to switch gears when it matters most.

Reporter: Your healthiness has been a topic of discussion, with reports of partying before important matches and playing through injuries. How do you manage to maintain your performance despite these challenges?

Amirah: (laughs) Well, I've always been a bit of a risk-taker when it comes to my lifestyle. I believe in living life to the fullest, both on and off the field. Sure, it may not be the healthiest approach, but it's what works for me. As long as I can still perform at a high level, I'll continue to push the boundaries.

Reporter: Lastly, what's one interesting fact about your life that fans may not know about?

Amirah: One interesting fact about me is that I used to be a striker before transitioning to goalkeeper. I discovered my passion for defending and protecting the goal, and I haven't looked back since. It's been a unique journey, but one that I wouldn't change for anything.

Reporter: Thank you for sharing that with us, Amirah. We wish you all the best for the rest of the season with Doha Falcons.

Amirah: Thank you, it's been a pleasure.
