Exclusive Interview with Lagos Sunshine FC Defender Sumeja Zalewski

Reporter: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us, Sumeja. Let's start with your recent form on the field. You've been playing exceptionally well this season. What do you attribute your success to?
Sumeja: Thank you. I think it's a combination of experience and skill. I've been in the game for a while now, and I know how to handle different situations on the field. My defensive skills have always been strong, and I think that has helped me a lot this season.
Reporter: You've played 10 matches so far this season, conceding only 5 goals. That's quite impressive. What do you think has been the key to your success in defense?
Sumeja: I think it's all about communication and teamwork. I have a great understanding with my fellow defenders and goalkeeper, and we work together to keep the opposition at bay. And of course, my favorite formation and play style also play a big role in that.
Reporter: Speaking of your favorite formation and play style, you mentioned that you enjoy playing in an attacking style. How does that influence your performance as a defender?
Sumeja: I love getting involved in the attack whenever I can. It keeps the opposition on their toes and allows me to create scoring opportunities for my team. But at the same time, I never forget my defensive duties and make sure to track back and help out when needed.
Reporter: Lastly, we've heard rumors about your unconventional approach to health and fitness. Can you shed some light on that?
Sumeja: (laughs) Well, I do like to have a good time off the field, but when it comes to playing, I always give my best. I've played through injuries and concussions, and I guess you could say my body is a bit of a ruin. But as long as I can perform on the field and meet the expectations of the club, I'm happy.
Reporter: Thank you for your time, Sumeja. It's been a pleasure speaking with you.
Sumeja: The pleasure is mine. Thank you for having me.
