Exclusive Interview with Valparaiso Mariners AC Defender Tomie Watanabe
Reporter: Hi Tomie, thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Let's start off by talking about your recent form on the pitch. You've had an exceptional season so far, what do you attribute that to?
Tomie: Thank you for having me. I think it's a combination of hard work and natural talent. I may not always put in the extra hours at practice, but when I'm on the field, I give it my all.
Reporter: Your favorite club to play against is COP. What makes those matches so special for you?
Tomie: COP always brings out the best in me. The competition is fierce and I thrive under pressure. Plus, it's always a great feeling to come out on top against a rival team.
Reporter: Your favorite formation is 4-2-3-1 and your favorite play style is defending. How do you think your skills complement that formation and play style?
Tomie: I believe my strengths as a defender really shine in that formation. I'm able to anticipate the opponents' moves and make crucial tackles to protect our goal. It's all about teamwork and communication.
Reporter: Lastly, I heard a random interesting fact about your life. Can you share it with us?
Tomie: Sure, not many people know this but I actually have a black belt in karate. It's a hobby I picked up when I was younger and it has helped me with my agility and focus on the pitch.
Reporter: That's impressive! Thank you for sharing that with us, Tomie. Keep up the great work on the field and best of luck for the rest of the season.
Tomie: Thank you, I appreciate it.
