Exclusive Interview with Veteran Defender Godfrey Shaffer

Reporter: Good evening Godfrey, thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Let's start off by talking about your current club, The Gymnastic Society. The team is currently at the bottom of the league table, how are you all planning to turn things around?

Godfrey: Well, it's definitely been a tough season for us so far. We have been conceding too many goals and struggling to score at the other end. But we are a resilient bunch and we are working hard in training to improve our performances. I believe we can turn things around with the right attitude and teamwork.

Reporter: That's great to hear. You have had a long and successful career in football. How have you managed to maintain your exceptional form at the age of 36?

Godfrey: Experience plays a huge role in my performance on the pitch. I have learned to adapt my game as I've gotten older and focus more on my positioning and reading of the game rather than relying on speed and physicality. Also, I have started to take better care of my body in recent years, adopting healthier habits and diet to prolong my career.

Reporter: Interesting to hear about your lifestyle changes. What is your favorite memory from your career so far?

Godfrey: I would have to say my favorite memory was scoring the winning goal in the derby match against BDB, our rival club. The atmosphere in the stadium was electric and the feeling of joy and satisfaction after that goal is something I will never forget.

Reporter: Lastly, can you share a random interesting fact about your life outside of football?

Godfrey: Well, not many people know this but I am actually a talented musician. I play the guitar in my free time and enjoy composing music whenever I can. It's a great way for me to relax and unwind after a tough match.

Reporter: That's fantastic to hear. Thank you for sharing that with us, Godfrey. We wish you and The Gymnastic Society the best of luck for the rest of the season.

Godfrey: Thank you for having me. It was a pleasure to chat with you.
