Riki Shimizu: "I may not be the fittest, but I get the job done"

Riki Shimizu: "I may not be the fittest, but I get the job done"

Interviewer: Riki, you've had a solid season so far with Sons of the Sahya. How do you feel about your performance on the pitch?

Riki Shimizu: I think I've been doing alright. Scoring a couple of goals and providing some assists for my teammates. I may not be the most athletic player out there, but I like to think my experience and skill make up for it.

Interviewer: You've been known for your unconventional practice habits. Can you tell us more about that?

Riki Shimizu: Yeah, I've never been one to spend hours on end training or watching game tape. I believe in enjoying life outside of football as well. But when I step on that pitch, I give it my all.

Interviewer: Your healthiness has been a topic of discussion in the past. How have you managed to stay fit despite your partying habits?

Riki Shimizu: (laughs) I guess I've just been lucky. I've had my fair share of injuries and concussions, but somehow I always manage to bounce back. Maybe I'm just built differently.

Interviewer: What's your favorite memory from your career so far?

Riki Shimizu: Definitely winning the cup final after partying all night. It was a crazy experience, but we came out on top. That's the kind of stuff you'll remember for a lifetime.

Interviewer: Any aspirations for the future?

Riki Shimizu: Just to keep enjoying the game and contributing to my team. I'm not getting any younger, but as long as I can still make a difference on the pitch, I'll keep playing.

Interviewer: Thank you for your time, Riki. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Riki Shimizu: Thank you. I'll do my best.
