Rising Defender Ami Ikeda Talks Player Development and Injury Setbacks

[Interviewer]: Thank you for joining us, Ami. Let's start with your recent injury. How are you feeling?

[Ami Ikeda]: It's been a frustrating time for me, but I'm slowly recovering. The injury has kept me off the pitch for a few weeks now, and I must admit, it's been tough watching my team play without being able to contribute. However, I'm working hard on my rehabilitation and hoping to be back in action soon.

[Interviewer]: We wish you a speedy recovery, Ami. Now, you mentioned earlier that you appreciate clubs that invest in player development. Could you elaborate on that?

[Ami Ikeda]: Absolutely. As a developing player, I believe it's crucial to have a supportive environment where I can grow and improve my skills. Clubs that prioritize player development provide excellent coaching staff, training facilities, and opportunities to compete at a higher level. This not only helps me progress as an individual, but it also benefits the team as a whole.

[Interviewer]: You have a reputation for being serious about your career. Can you tell us more about your practice ethics and how you balance work and leisure?

[Ami Ikeda]: For me, football is not just a job; it's a passion. I invest a lot of time and effort into honing my skills both on and off the pitch. I'm known for my work ethic, which has earned the appreciation of my coach and teammates. However, I also understand the importance of balance. Off the field, I know how to let loose and enjoy life. It's crucial to have downtime and recharge both physically and mentally.

[Interviewer]: That seems like a healthy approach, Ami. Speaking of health, you mentioned adopting healthier habits to prolong your career. Could you tell us more about that?

[Ami Ikeda]: As a young player, I must admit I wasn't always the most health-conscious. However, with age and experience, I've realized the significance of taking care of my body. I've been gradually making changes to my diet, opting for fewer fast foods and incorporating more keto-friendly meals. It's a process, but I believe these small steps will contribute to my long-term fitness and ultimately extend my career.

[Interviewer]: That's commendable. Now, let's talk about your favorite club to play against. Why do you enjoy matches against BDB?

[Ami Ikeda]: BDB has always been an intense rival for us, and the games against them are always filled with excitement. The competition pushes me to perform at my best, and I thrive on the challenge. Additionally, they play an attacking style of football, which allows me to showcase my defensive skills. Overall, matches against BDB are electrifying, and I relish every opportunity to face them on the pitch.

[Interviewer]: Moving on, could you share your thoughts on your favorite formation and play style?

[Ami Ikeda]: My favorite formation is the classic 4-4-2. This formation provides a solid defensive structure while still allowing for effective attacking play. As a defender, I feel most comfortable and confident in this setup. Regarding play style, I thoroughly enjoy defending. There's an exhilarating feeling when you successfully thwart an opponent's attack and contribute to your team's defensive solidity. Defending gives me a sense of pride and accomplishment.

[Interviewer]: Lastly, let's discuss your current team's ranking and the goals conceded this season. How do you plan to improve these aspects?

[Ami Ikeda]: Our current team ranking is 9th out of 10 teams, which is certainly not where we want to be. As for the goals conceded, we've let in 12 so far this season, and it's an area we need to work on collectively. I believe that with consistent training, tactical adjustments, and better communication on the field, we can turn things around. It's essential to stay positive, learn from our mistakes, and work together towards improving our overall performance.

[Interviewer]: Thank you for sharing your insights, Ami. Before we conclude, could you share an interesting fact about your life?

[Ami Ikeda]: Certainly! Not many people know this, but I have a second-degree black belt in karate. Before focusing solely on football, I dedicated a significant portion of my time to martial arts training. It has greatly contributed to my discipline, focus, and physicality on the football field. Though I may not use my karate skills directly in matches, the mental and physical attributes I developed through martial arts continue to benefit me in my football career.

[Interviewer]: That's fascinating, Ami! Thank you once again for your time, and we wish you a successful recovery and an exciting comeback to the pitch.
