Sheren Ulin: The Midfield Maestro Talks About Life, Goals, and More
Interviewer: Good morning, Sheren. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Let's start off with your recent form. You've been playing for Lagos Sunshine FC this season, and the team is currently ranked last in the league. How do you feel about the team's performance so far?
Sheren Ulin: Good morning. Well, it's been a challenging season for us, no doubt about it. As a team, we haven't been able to find our rhythm yet, and it reflects in our standing. However, we're not giving up. We're working hard to improve our performance and climb up the table.
Interviewer: You mentioned working hard. Some critics have labeled you as lazy on the pitch. How do you respond to those comments?
Sheren Ulin: (Smiling) Well, I can understand why some people might perceive me that way. Football is important to me, but I believe in having a balanced life. I enjoy spending time with my family and pursuing other interests outside of the sport. However, I don't think that makes me lazy. I may not put in the extra work like some players, but I still give my best during matches.
Interviewer: That's an interesting perspective. Speaking of matches, you've played 12 games this season and haven't scored any goals or provided any assists. Are you satisfied with your individual performance so far?
Sheren Ulin: Not scoring goals or providing assists is definitely not what I aim for. As a midfielder, I understand the importance of contributing in those areas. However, football is a team sport, and sometimes individual statistics don't reflect the overall impact I have on the field. I focus on playing my part in the team's success, whether it's through defending, distributing the ball, or creating space for my teammates.
Interviewer: Fair enough. Let's talk about your favorite club to play against. You mentioned GYM. What makes those matches special for you?
Sheren Ulin: GYM has always been a tough opponent, and I thrive in challenging situations. Their style of play forces me to step up my defensive game, and I enjoy the tactical battle on the field. Playing against GYM pushes me to give my best and improve my skills, so I always look forward to those matches.
Interviewer: And what about your favorite formation and play style?
Sheren Ulin: My favorite formation is 4-4-1-1. It provides a solid defensive structure while allowing midfielders like myself to contribute both in defense and attack. As for play style, I have always been drawn to defending. I find satisfaction in intercepting passes, making crucial tackles, and disrupting the opponent's rhythm. It's a role that suits my skills and instincts.
Interviewer: That's great to hear. Now, let's talk about your personal life. Is there an interesting fact about yourself that you'd like to share?
Sheren Ulin: Well, one interesting fact about me is that I have gradually shifted towards a healthier lifestyle as I've grown older. When I was younger, I wasn't the most health-conscious player. But with age and experience, I've realized the importance of taking care of my body. I have adopted healthier eating habits, focusing on a keto diet and minimizing fast food. It has had a positive impact on my overall well-being and performance on the pitch.
Interviewer: That's commendable, Sheren. Thank you for sharing that with us. Before we wrap up, is there anything else you'd like to add or say to your fans?
Sheren Ulin: I would like to thank my fans for their support throughout my career. I appreciate their understanding of my approach to the game and the balance I seek in life. I promise to keep working hard, both on and off the pitch, to bring success to Lagos Sunshine FC and make them proud.
Interviewer: Thank you once again, Sheren. Best of luck for the remainder of the season.
