Young Defender Mikal Karam's Meteoric Rise in Porto Alegre International

Reporter: Mikal, you have been making quite a name for yourself with your exceptional form on the field despite your young age. Can you tell us a bit about your journey so far?

Mikal Karam: Well, it's been a tough journey, to be honest. I've had to make a lot of sacrifices in order to focus on my football career. No friends, no fun, just work all day every day. But it's all worth it when I step onto that pitch and give my all for my team.

Reporter: Your practice ethics seem to be quite extreme. Do you ever feel like you're missing out on other aspects of life?

Mikal Karam: Not at all. Football is my passion, my purpose. I will do whatever it takes to become the best defender I can be. I don't mind sacrificing everything else for that goal.

Reporter: Your healthiness has been a point of concern for some. How do you manage to keep performing at such a high level despite your partying, injuries, and concussions?

Mikal Karam: I guess I just have a high pain threshold. I know my body might not age well, but right now all I care about is playing the game I love. I'll deal with the consequences later.

Reporter: You have yet to concede a goal this season. What do you attribute your success to on the defensive end?

Mikal Karam: It's all about focus and discipline. I thrive on defending, on shutting down the opposition's attacks. It's a challenge that I relish every time I step onto the pitch.

Reporter: And finally, what's a random interesting fact about your life that fans might not know?

Mikal Karam: I actually used to be a striker when I first started playing football. But I quickly realized that my true calling was in defense. I love the challenge of stopping the other team from scoring.

Reporter: Well, thank you for your time Mikal, and best of luck for the rest of the season.

Mikal Karam: Thank you. I'll continue to give my all for my team and hopefully help lead us to victory.
